This item remains in a GOOD, USED CONDITION- All parts appear to be present and Steel Shell is in good order. Leather chin strap is complete, yet displays visible wear. Original padded leather liner is evident - some eyelets have come loose. ** ITEM IS SECOND-HAND AND WILL DISPLAY SIGNS OF AGE-RELATED SURFACE WEAR.**

An EXCELLENT example of a Angola, Portuguese M1940/63 Ultramar Colonial Steel Helmet. This piece appears to be in a GOOD, USED state , with liner intact. The original backing pads are present yet worn. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface - with 85 % of the Olive Green Camouflage paint present. The Leather is fragile , and must be handled with care.
This Helmet would have been utilised by Portuguese Colonial & Regular Security Forces during the Conflict known as the 'Guerro do Ultramar'. The insurgency in Portugal's territory of Angola , resulted in a 13 year war from 1961 - 1974 ; in which Liberation movements such as the MPLA & FNLA competed for political power.
The ideal addition to any Portuguese Colonial War militaria collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
