This is a very, very rare proof krugerrand, only 987 were minted on order at Gold Reef City during 1989. I am still the original owner. In February 4, 1989 I personally struck the coin at a commemorative ceremony at Gold Reef City Mint, and I still have the 430x300 mm framed certificate to go with. On those days SA Mint didn't slab the coins but I had it graded and slabbed by the South African Gold Coin Exchange.

The krugerrand is the world most popular and well known gold coin. Millions of people love it. The coin depicts Paul Kruger on the obverse side and the springbok on the reverse side. Paul Kruger full name was STEPHANUS JOHANNES PAULUS KRUGER, but his people lovingly called him Oom Paul. (Uncle Paul). Oom Paul was born on October 10, 1825. Was president of the South African Republic, old Transvaal (now Gauteng) from 1883 to 1900 and passed over on July 14, 1904.
