This superbly hand-carved and signed original "Frans Khoza" soapstone African Lion sculpture is an incredible find and one of only a few of his sculptures still in circulation. Not much info is available on the artist and barr finding a few of his pieces that were auctioned for R 1000's, I've established that was a South African artist from the mid 20th century. A 12cm white sandstone "White Lion" sculpture was available on E-bay for $500.00. The lion measures 25cm long x 7cm wide x 12.5cm high. I can see no visible repairwork and the sculpture is in awesome condition for its age. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this exquisitely Frans Khoza hand carved African Lion sculpture and to confirm the condition.
