With the Agfa Optima series, a new Era of photography began.       

The first Camera of this series (Agfa Optima) was launched in 1959 and significantly simplified the operation of high-quality devices. The cameras were fully automatically controlled by a selenium cell. When you press the "magic button" lightly, the first step is to travel through the time range to the shortest possible time, then the shutter closes to the smallest possible level.                                       

If correct exposure is possible, a traffic light changes from red to green in the viewfinder. Trigger, done. The distance adjustment happens here very simply over three symbols. In flash mode the camera gives a fixed time of 1/30".                                                       

In this state, any aperture level can be adjusted manually.               

With the Optima I, the "magical button" moved to the right side of the camera and the Trigger was also pressed by means of this button. At the same time the camera got a simple lens and a cheaper shutter. The trim ring on the clasp on which the name stands is screwed.
