This is an Airfix 1/72 scale plastic model of the North American Mitchell Mk.II Airfix A06018. The powerful North American B-25C / D Mitchell tactical medium bomber has been assigned the Mitchell II in the Royal Air Force service, with the RAF being the only group to perform the type of raids from bases in Britain into occupied Europe. RAF Mitchells were sent to operate from advanced airfields in France in the weeks following the D-Day landings to provide cover for the progress of Allied ground units.
