This is seed from a cross I made earlier this year
Pollen donor: Aloe arborescens
Pollen receiver : Aloe ferox
Thus seeds were harvested on an Aloe ferox
The seeds were harvested on 15 September 2024 and they were tested on 22 September 2024 in paper towel at a constant temperature of 25°C
Seeds sprouted started on day 5 with 80% sprouting from the total amount tested and 90% by day 6. Day 8 saw the final seed sprout (See picture 2). So final results = 100% sprouting with relatively good consistency
Similiar germination rates can be assumed (sprouting = first root or radicle emergence from the seed, germination = soil surface is breached and seedling is about to have its first above soil exposure , germination rate is often less than the percent that sprout since it occurs later and thus in that interval fungus and bacteria could set in )
