This exceptionally rare antique "Apothecary" scale in its original glass and Mahogany case and is in amazing condition for its age. These scales were/ are also referred to as "Analytical Balance Scales" or a "Laboratory Balance" scales. The scale has its original adjustable feet, level indicator, scale pans, knobs, buttons and  brass fittings, and as far as I can see, all the components are in place and are functional. These scales were also used as Jewellery, and more specific, gem stone scales, but their function was predominantly pharmaceutical. The mahogany case is in fantastic condition and has been extremely well looked after. This is an amazing scale, in stunning condition, and the ideal usable antique scale. The scale would also make a superb prop in a retail store or jewellery store etc. The scale measures 38cm long x 25.5cm wide x 48.5cm high. Please view the pictures carefully to fully appreciate this exquisite Apothecary scale and to confirm the condition.
