You don’t just take iPod nano on your run. You let it take you. Music is your motivation. But what if you want to go further? Thanks to a unique partnership between NIKE and Apple, your iPod nano becomes your coach. Your personal trainer. Your favorite workout companion. Introducing Nike + iPod.

Get a pair of Nike+ shoes (sold seperately)
Only Nike+ shoes feature a built-in pocket under the insole specially engineered for the Nike + iPod sensor. For seamless, stylish integration, add Nike+ apparel that holds your iPod nano and receiver.

Get an iPod nano (sold seperately)
Skip-free playback, a brilliant display, and up to 2,000 songs1 in an impossibly small iPod keep you light on your feet. And only iPod nano syncs your complete workout data with both iTunes and nikeplus.com.

Get the Nike + iPod Sport Kit
The Sport Kit allows your Nike+ shoe to talk to your iPod nano. The sensor uses a sensitive accelerometer to measure your activity, then wirelessly transfers this data to the receiver on your iPod nano.

Primary information
Depending on the type of workout you choose from the Nike + iPod menu, a counter displays your time, distance, or calories burned. If you’re running a time-based workout, for example, your elapsed time appears in this position, so you get at-a-glance feedback on your primary workout goal.

Secondary information
In addition to the primary information, your nano displays several pieces of secondary information. Toward the top, you'll see the song currently playing. At the bottom, you’ll see additional information — including time, distance, and pace — that varies according to your choice of workout.

Nike + iPod menu
With a Nike + iPod receiver attached to your iPod nano, you can access the Nike + iPod menu and choose your workouts. Try the open-ended Basic Workout or select a workout with time, distance, or calorie goals. Pick a playlist, shuffle songs, or select Nike-created Sport Music content. You can also program a PowerSong to play on the run with one click. Your iPod nano stores and displays up to 1,000 individual workouts, so you can view your data anytime.

Voice feedback
As you run, iPod nano tells you your time, distance, pace, and calories burned via voice feedback that adjusts music volume as it plays. In addition to progress reports, voice feedback congratulates you when you’ve reached a personal best — your fastest pace, longest distance and time, or most calories burned. Voice feedback occurs automatically, according to predetermined intervals that vary by workout type. You can also hear voice feedback at any time by clicking the center button.

PowerSong
From the Nike + iPod menu, you can set a PowerSong. When you want to hear this song during your workout, press and hold the center button for instant sonic motivation. When your PowerSong is over, the previous playlist resumes.

Connect
Any mere pedometer can show you stats while you run. But thanks to the Nike + iPod sensor and receiver, iPod nano also transfers your workout data to the Internet as soon as you sync. Connect your iPod, and iTunes takes over, automatically syncing all your run data and sending it to nikeplus.com.
