The Mayflower Bean is a pole bean plant that produces pink and white speckled pods. It is an old "cut-short" historical heirloom that went over to the USA on the Mayflower in 1620. Their rectangular appearance comes from their development stage where the seeds outgrow the hulls and push against each other.

The Mayflower beans can either be eaten as green beans or dry beans.
