Boer War - P.O.W. (St. Helena 1902) Bone Brooch

 

This scarce Prisoner of War sweetheart brooch has been beautifully hand carved out of bone and is inscribed on the front 'FJES' and 'ST. H 1902'. Other than a tiny nick to the corner, it's in great condition and measures 3,6cm x 2,5cm.


*There's another similar brooch listed on my site which originally came from the same home.


Note: Over 6000 Boers were interned at St. Helena during the Boer War.
