Bose Companion 3 Series II (graphite), all photos are of the ones for sale.
These computer speakers are fantastic, the sound quality is great, they are very well built and are fairly compact, these are very good and fill a small room quite easily. It comes with a handy control pod to adjust volume and it has an auxiliary and headphone jack.
Design:
the design is great, blends in well with most colors and is great for white and silver computers such as the iMac. They are very well built and are fairly light, they can be easily carried. The control pod is also great and handy. A small negative about the design is that the bass knob is right at the back of the subwoofer and there is no treble control.
Sound Quality:
I listen to Dubstep, Drum & Bass and house music. The sound quality is fantastic. Detailed treble and high notes and good mid-range but the bass is nothing to brag about. The Bose Companion 3 has a small 5.25 inch subwoofer driver which is very small but is better and more powerful than your regular 5.25" subwoofer. The bass is a little under-powered. The subwoofer gives up on about 45Hz and completely disappears at 40Hz. When turned past 40% volume (40% on the control pod and 100% W7 volume) the subwoofer does not get any louder and the mid-range and treble gets too noisy and the subwoofer seems under-powered and this is when the bass knob is at 100%. Despite this issue, they go very loud. I have never turned it past the 60% volume mark as it does go very loud. Altogether the system is 300 watts. 100 for each satellite and 100 for the subwoofer.
