History:The company was established in 1743 in Naples, Italy and was in direct competition with Meissen porcelain from Germany.They became famous for their moulded figures.The now famous blue mark of a 'Crown' with the 'N' below it dates back to 1770, used originally by Fabbrica Real Ferdinandea from 1770 to 1834. The mark shown on the figurine, dates, with some slight variations, from the 1900 until present day. Newer pieces usually have the name 'Capodimonte' and 'Made in Italy' as well as the blue crown and letter 'N'.
Marks/Observations: Simple figure of a cherub blowing a horn. Beautifully executed, as only the Italians can do. Two small 'firing' flaws due to heating in the kiln observed on the back of the Cherub. Backstamp of a blue 'crown' over a blue 'N'
Condition: In excellent condition, white bisque with gilding.No chips.
