CHASTE BERRY TREE - Vitex agnus-castus

DESCRIPTION: Also known as vitex, Chasteberry, Abraham's Balm or Monk's Pepper. Extremely handsome landscape plant that is used for PMS, balancing for women through life. Easy to grow in almost any soil that has good drainage! It makes a colorful addition to a mixed border if kept pruned to shrub size, though it probably looks best unpruned. It is hardly ever disturbed by pests or disease, fragrant, upwardlypointing, lavender blooms which are quite attractive to butterflies and bees - the tree is often planted where honey is marketed to promote excellent honey production.
