Samsung has recently unveiled the latest addition to the Galaxy family - the Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge smartphones.

At first glance - there don't seem to be as many changes to the S6 as one would expect - but that doesn't mean things haven't changed under the hood.

The S7 packs a massive 4GB of RAM into an impressively designed device sporting a 5.1" Super AMOLED quad-HD display. Interestingly, the S7 & S7 Edge feature an "always on" display - meaning that notifications, calendar appointments and the time are always displayed.

The S7 & S7 Edge also sees the return of the much-loved MicroSD slot - meaning you can expand your storage by a maximum of 200GB. This is a welcome return for most Samsung fans and will be especially useful for those who love snapping loads of pics on their phones.

Another welcome return is water and dust proofing which was last seen on the S5 and curiously skipped the S6. The S7 is IP68 Rated meaning that it is totally sealed against dust and can be completely submerged for long periods with no damage.

In terms of pictures - the S7 & S7 Edge sport a redesigned 12MP camera with Dual-Pixel auto-focus technology.

Dual-Pixel technology results in photos being 95% brighter than on the S6 and drastically improves low-light and night photography.

Most importantly the S7 packs a lot more juice thanks to the 3000 mAh battery and improved processor efficiency. This means you should be able to get a full day of moderate usage out of a single charge. On top of that - Samsung has promised that with the Fast Charging setting enabled you should be able to reach 50% battery in an astonishing 10 minutes!

The battery life of the device will also help along thanks to Android 6.0 Marshmallow being pre-installed on the device.
