D-Link DWR-956M 4G/LTE fibre/cellular router with dual-band WiFi and landline phone support

Brief description

This is a "home networking" router that makes your primary internet connection (eg fibre or 4G/LTE cellular) accessible over a wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired network.
It includes support for an external high-speed internet connection (like a fibre connection), integrated 4G/LTE cellular modem, router, firewall device, 4-port wired-LAN switch, dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, and support for connecting analogue landline telephones.

Main benefits

• Contains everything you need to turn a 4G/LTE data contract (such as are available from Telkom, MTN, Vodacom etc) into a stand-alone high-speed internet connection providing wired and wireless connectivity .
• Or, you can use it to route an existing high-speed internet connection (eg a fibre contract) and configure the 4G/LTE cellular modem as a "backup" connection that will take over seamlessly if your fibre connection fails.
• Provides simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi on two separate wireless networks, one on 2.4GHz (longer range) and one on 5GHz (higher speed)
• Also provides 4 wired LAN sockets operating at Gigabit speeds to connect PCs, printers and other fixed network devices
• You can connect analogue "landline" telephones via the wired telephone port and have calls routed via the GSM network as a normal cellular call, over the internet as a VoIP call, or using Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE)
• Has 4 proper antennas (2 for 4G/LTE and 2 for Wi-Fi) for excellent cellular performance and in-house Wi-Fi coverage

Condition:

• Perfect, as-new condition. Router was tested but never used
• Reason for selling : Units was provided free by Telkom as part of a landline replacement deal but I already had a router in use
• Unit was provided in December 2019, so no significant warranty coverage left, unfortunately. However router is brand new and fully functional and .
