Please note that drone fishing regulations vary by location, and it is essential to check your local legal requirements before making a purchase. Currently, drone-assisted fishing in South Africa is prohibited under national regulations. This ban applies specifically to the use of drones for deploying bait or fishing equipment into the ocean.

We strongly encourage all potential buyers to familiarise themselves with the applicable laws and guidelines in their region to ensure compliance. If you're unsure about the regulations in your area, please consult your local fisheries department or relevant authorities for clarity before proceeding with your purchase.

Our team is available to assist with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the use of drones within legal boundaries.

Scientifically proven to be the worlds best pressure release system

DOES NOT INCLUDE THE DRONE.

Main features:

  1. A full automatic mechanical release series mainly used for fishing. As a full mechanical it does not require a battery or any electronics.
  2. The lightest purpose-designed release in the world at only 13g, 7x lighter than its closest rival.
  3. Designed not to interfere with your drones (Visual Positioning Sensors) VPS sensors in default optimal installation position. VPS remains ON, unobstructed and active so you are not risking your camera or drone by disabling it. See WARNINGS below for more,
  4. Mounts in seconds to your drone with no tools required,
  5. Clear from the drone camera
  6. Over 4kg release ability (used on the Inspire 2 & custom drones
  7. Because of it's high accuracy, (±5% @ 800g setting) the release setting can be made higher than any other release, closer to the drone limit, resulting in more hookups and less missed fish throwing the bait/lure as the hook was not set on the initial strike, this when trawling lures or bait direct to fish. Same goes for reducing stress on the drone when dropping normal baits no need to set it too high, saving your drone in the long run.
  8. No need to modify your drone in any manner it simply clips or straps on,
  9. Central loading the same as all other Gannets - balancing the load on all 4 motors, this is fundamental to all drones. You will never see a helicopter slinging a load off-center why do it to a drone?
  10. Central loading also distributes the load evenly to all 4 drone legs minimizing the stress on them as far as possible. See WARNINGS below for more details,
  11. Lowest possible release point on the drone without adding leg extensions - See WARNINGS below for more details,
  12. The entire release is installed below the radio antennas, which is in the drone legs, so it cannot interfere with signal or navigation at all, this becoming critical when at long range or in high interference areas.
  13. Is activated whenever the pull force on the release line, the Drop-Loop, exceeds the user setting, so if set to release at 100 grams you can comfortably fly 90 gram loads all day long, so if you manually stop the spool whilst still flying forward the drone easily exceeds the additional needed 10g  releasing the load.
  14. Easy one hand loading while the drone is hovering
  15. Designed for 0,3mm to 1,4mm  Drop-Loops of either nylon or even metal,
  16. Instant release should the reel or line snag to above the settings threshold, same as it would if a bird was to hit the line,
  17. Smallest, most compact Gannet to date and the smallest release in the market by a very large margin. Weighing in at only 13g. Weight saved on the release is safety gained for the flight reducing drone power consumption, when compared to competitive mechanical releases the power saving can be as great as 3min on every battery,
  18. High-quality injection-molded body design and appearance matching that of DJI themselves.
  19. So small it fits in any drone case with the drone. With no loose parts or tools so nothing can get lost or misplaced.

FAQ's

  1. What other drones can be fitted with the Gannet Sport Universal
    1. Too many to list, we will be making brackets for drones upon request, if your drone is not on the list then send us a mail and we will make a plan to add it.
      1. Inspire 1
      2. Inspire 2
      3. Mavic Air
      4. Mavic Air 2
      5. Cuta Copter all models
      6. up Air
      7. Swell Pro
      8. Posidon
      9. Etc.......
  2. Why the Gannet Sport and not the original electric Gannets
    1. The sport is aimed exclusively at fishing as you need a line attached to it to operate where the original Gannets can drop anything at any distance and some can even drop 2 separate payloads on different locations.
    2. The Original Gannets are also very well suited for fishing and used by 1000's of people for just that, they also have the ability to push the absolute limits of what the drone can carry putting the pilot in full control where the Sport will let max loads (absolute max) drop at the slightest upset saving the drone. Here is looking at the Phantoms we are now talking of loads over 1kg that is done exclusively by very well experienced pilots in control of the drone. the sport can also be set higher than the drone max but in this even it becomes very risky and is not recommend.
  3. What load can they carry?
    1. The Sport can be set very close to drone max but it is advisable to rather have a safety margin of a few 100g to ensure there is sufficient room for safety. On the Phantoms, we have done baits of 1kg with ease but this is pushing limits of the drone and not recommend for everyday use.
  4. Why can the Sport carry more than other mechanical release systems?
    1. it is the lightest by very far at only 13g
    2. Dead central loading spreading the load to all 4 props
    3. Extreme high accuracy and repeatability always releasing when it must where others have breakaway friction to overcome the Sport only has a linear spring to act against.
    4. The Sport can only be loaded one way and the line can only be released in one way where other clamping systems can have the line clamped differently on every load and the line can be pulled out different every time, they are also subject to friction which changes when dry/wet/salty, thereby those systems have poor repeatability and are unreliable on higher load settings.

WARNINGS & CONCERNS REGARDING OTHER DESIGNS

  1. DO NOT disable VPS or Landing Protection, critical systems that protect your drone, camera & gimbal as well as personal and public safety. Other designs that require VPS to be disabled are compromised and should be avoided. Without it the drone cannot perform precision landings. For more on VPS and flying over water please see https://youtu.be/FihnvkaN83M
  2. Some designs require yanking the line free due to the inability to set an accurate repeatable release force, the clamping yaws wherein the line is held simply can't perform the same constantly under all conditions, sometimes the line start sliding t...
