early SADF issue "UK Martindale" machete in original sheath (SADF Mil mark)

Here on auction we have a scarce early SADF issue machete and original leather sheath (WW2 era item?) - UK made Martindale machete in near mint condition with  UDF (SADF forces mark hand engraved on the blade - see pic).

The original sheath is presnet BUT please note that the retianing strap has broken in two with age (can be easy repaired/ replaced and the stud is present).

The machete itself is in great shape, appears basically unsharpened and with no damage at all to the blade or handle.
