Gypsophila, also known as Babys Breath, is a flowering plant.  It is an herbaceous perennial reaching heights of 1.2 meter and 1.2 meter wide, with mounds of branching stems covered in clouds of tiny white flowers in summer.  The plant grows well in dry, sandy and stony places and often on calcareous soils.

Gypsophila is often used in the floristry trade.

Gypsophila comes in annual and perennial variety.  The perennial forms are deep-rooted, long lived plants, that needs plenty of sun and space to spread.
