The Princess and the Pea
Inside the palace the prince is sulking because he has failed to find a princess he can love. His parents are worn out from their son's quest across the world while their kingdom is falling to wrack and ruin. Outside a storm is raging. A feisty and wet young lady claiming to be a princess knocks on the palace door seeking shelter from the storm.
Little Ida's Flowers
Little Ida is sad because her flowers have wilted. She can't understand how they were blooming yesterday and today look faded and tired. Hans her tutor who is a great storyteller, explains that the flowers have been at the Flower's Ball and are exhausted from dancing all night.
The Fir Tree
The litte fir tree is never happy. He wants to be big so he can see over the other trees or be a mast on a ship like the older fir tree. Finally his wish for greater things comes true when he is carried off to be a Christmas tree for the big house. Decorated and at the centre of attention, life just couldn't be better. But how long will it last? And what will happen after Christmas?
The Swineherd
The young prince is besotted with a neighbouring princess who knows nothing of him. Wanting her to love him for himself rather than his royalty he goes to her father looking for a job. Delighted he accepts the position of castle swineherd and over time attracts the Princess' attention with the magical toys he makes. His price for the toys is only a kiss or a hundred.
