 History of SA Ships these were collectors plates made in 1982, the plate were made by Royale in fine bone china, hand burnished and band decoration hand painted with pure gold they were a limited edition of 2000 this being plate 0249, these plates are in the original box with cerificate of authenticity. Size 26cm dia In May 1651 Jan van Riebeeck sailed for the Cape. On the 5 April 1652 his flagship " Dromedaris " sighted Table Bay, the flag of the Dutch Republic was raised.
