Italian Roma plum tomato x 10 seeds

Italian Roma is an heirloom, determinate plum tomato that produces high yields of 3 to 4 long, oval-shaped fruits that are best for cooking or in sauces due to their relatively low water content and the fact that you'll have a bunch of them ready to pick all at once.

Prized for its use in tomato paste and sauces, Roma produces a large harvest of thick-walled, meaty, bright red, egg-shaped tomatoes about 3 Inches Long and with few seeds. This tomato is not juicy. This is not a slicing tomato. Instead, the flesh is thick and drier so that it will cook down into a thick sauce.

These deep-rooted plants are quite drought tolerant and don't really need a lot of water once they are established. In fact, keeping them dry encourages strong root growth. However you will get more and larger fruit if you keep the soil evenly moist once they start flowering and bearing fruit.

Grow Roma tomatoes in full sun and a sheltered spot outdoors, or inside in a greenhouse or polytunnel. Because Roma tomatoes grow tall but have a relatively small spread, they are a good choice for small spaces.
