The Sun Blade 2000 system accommodates up to two Superscalar, 64-bit, high-performance UltraSPARC III Cu CPUs. It features a high-performance, crossbar-switch system interconnect that provides high bandwidth (up to 4 GBps) for ultra-high-speed processors and graphic subsystems.
It also delivers plenty of internal disk and memory and a 64-bit PCI bus for incredibly fast I/O. The Sun Blade 2000 workstation provides both USB and IEEE 1394 interfaces for connectivity to leading-edge third-party peripherals. With high-end 3-D graphics, dual-monitor capabilities, and support for Sun's storage systems, this workstation is truly a powerful, flexible next-generation desktop.
This system utilises 2 X 1015 MHz UltraSPARC(r) III Cu CPUs (with 8MB cache each), delivering fast floating point performance. It comes fully loaded with Sun's leading edge technology products including the Sun XVR-1000 graphics accelerator, and a SUN Elite3D-M6 frame buffer card.
The Sun XVR-1000 graphics accelerator is an ideal solution for users that need the highest possible workstation image quality. It is also an excellent solution for GIS, visualisation and similar applications that will benefit from its large texture memory, 30-bit colour precision, and its fast and flexible multi-head output options.
This system is supplied with Solaris 10 pre-loaded, as well as the Solaris 10 DVD set, including the SUN Developer Tools DVD.
This system can also run an assortment of Linux distributions - ideal for the Linux / Unix hacker! You also get a second Elite3D-M6 frame buffer (graphics) card for Linux graphics driver compatibility.
Full networking functionality provided - on-board 10/100 Ethernet port, and 2 X 10/100/1000 Ethernet adapters. Ideal for those building firewalls or webservers.

This system does not come with a monitor or display. You can use any PC SVGA or better monitor, or SUN display monitors.
The graphics adapters can accommodate a combination of VGA, DVI or SUN 13W3 graphics connectors.
This is a UNIX-type power workstation and not a PC. You cannot run MS-Windows on it !
