Louis Pretorius was born in Middelburg in the Karoo and grew
up in Cape Town. He became a teacher in 1966 and started his art in 1971.
 
For more than 30 years he has had many exhibitions in South
Africa.Louis Pretorius is married to Emmie and since 1990 resides in
Melkbosstrand.
 
Louis has always found soul food in being creative -
especially painting, which inspiration was strengthened when he spent some time
to tour Europe and the Greek islands. Spending time in the museums and art
galleries contributed to this ambition. He loves painting landscapes and is
concerned with Man's abuse of Our World, so endeavour to capture the beauty of
