Republic of South Africa : SPECIMEN AA R50 note of 1984

The rare collection of uncirculated specimen notes that I am currently selling, as well as the Rhodesian notes, belonged to a past Minister of Finance of South Africa, Senator Owen Horwood.

According to Wikipedia “Owen Pieter Faure Horwood (1916 - 1998) was a South African economist, politician, leader of the National Party in the province of Natal and Finance Minister from 1975 to 1984”.

The notes were stored in correspondence letters (not included with the lots) addressed to the Minister, as received from the South African Reserve Bank.

The item that you are bidding on here is a SPECIMEN AA R50 note of 1984.
