Hard cover with dust jacket, large format, 116 pages.  LIMITED EDITION, NO.887 (OF ONLY 800 COPIES). Please note: numbers only start at 201 (see pic).

Profusely illustrated in black and white, and colour plates.  Extremely scarce. Autobiography of Coert Steynberg (1905-1982), sculptor and painter, text in Afrikaans. 

Among the famous works he produced are the beautiful statue at the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek and the Blood River Monument.  He is best known for sculpting the statue of Paul Kruger, at the Kruger Gate, Kruger National Park.  He designed the 'pronking' springbok which appears of all gold Kruger Rands.  One of his most definitive works is his well-known statuette of the dancing Mabalel.
