Fabulous Large Victorian Silver Tray/Salver (1873)
This fine quality, impressive, large, round, solid silver, antique tray or salver was made in London, England in 1873 by silversmiths 'Stephen Smith & Son' (S.S) and stands on three, cast scroll feet. It has a beautiful, raised repousse border, decorated all round with numerous faces and edged with a beaded finish. The centre has an attractive, engraved pattern around an armorial of a 'Boars' head in the middle and other than the silver hallmarks, it's stamped on the back 'W.W. LOGAN, 72 BUCHANAN ST. GLASGOW' who were probably the original retailers. This fabulous salver is in great condition with a nice weight, stands 3,5cm high with a diameter of 31,5cm and weighs 890g.
