LISTED ARTIST ROBERT COX (1934-2001) SOFT LILAC VIOLET FLORAL BOUQUET ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING (69CM W 59CM H)
A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE ORIGINAL SIGNED "ROBERT COX" OIL PAINTING OF A SOFT LILAC PURPLE FLORAL BOUQUET.
THIS PAINTING HAS THE SAME THEME (FLORAL BOUQUET) OF MOST OF ROBERT COXs PAINTINGS BUT IT FEATURES A SOFTER MORE UNIFORMLY COLOURED PAINTING IN CONTRAST TO HIS MORE BRIGHTLY COLOURED FLORAL BOUQUETS I HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST. CLASSIC VINTAGE DOUBLE FRAME WITH OFF WHITE INNER BEIGE CANVAS AND WOODEN GOLD PAINTED OUTER FRAME. WITH HANGING CORD AT BACK. ROBERT COX WAS AND IS A LISTED ARTIST AND WAS APPARENTLY A PROLIFIC PAINTER DURING THE 70S. HE WAS BORN IN 1934, AND DIED IN 2001.
Robert Cox's paintings were primarily brightly coloured floral stills that were created using a palette knife. Every example of his paintings that I could find were of flowers in a vase. Apparently this was his favourite subject. Cox paid special attention to natural light and shadow, especially on the petals and leaves of his pieces.
ORIGINAL: IT IS 100 PERCENT ORIGINAL. SEE PHOTOS PLEASE.
SIZE WITH FRAME: 69CM WIDE 59CM HIGH SIZE PAINTING: 56CM WIDE 46CM HIGH
CONDITION: PAINTING HAS A FEW SCRAPES THROUGH THE FLOWERS. SOME PAINTS DROPLETS BY ARTIST. FRAME HAS SOME EDGE CHIPS. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS.
