Selling a late 2011 Macbook Pro as scrap. I've tried everything I know of to get it to boot, from changing out the HDD, resetting the SMC, VMRAM and PRAM and I even managed to reinstall OSX from a USB key with no luck (but only once as I can't get it to boot from the USB anymore, it hangs near the end of booting).
Booting from the internal HDD with newly reinstalled OSX gets it most of the way through booting before going to a white screen and hanging. It either restarts itself or powers off after about 30 seconds.
I can't get it to boot into recovery mode or even single user mode. However I managed to get it to start in Verbose mode where it display the boot sequence line by line. I managed to catch it showing "Previous Shutdown Cause: -62" (see screenshot in listing photos) and on Googling this error it points to an application hanging, but this might be a wild goose chase as even when I managed to reinstall OSX it still hangs or gets stuck in a reboot loop.
I'm selling as scrap/parts only as the screen has no damage and as far as I know the rest of the components work. When I spoke to the iStore they indicated that it would most likely require a logic board replacement but they didn't have that part in stock and it would need to be ordered from Apple HQ overseas.
Please note that no returns will be accepted as this is a non-working Macbook Pro.
