Persian Carpet: 1,0 x 0,5 m

Offering this beautiful little handmade rug from my private collection.  It has never been used and is in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear, discolouration or moth damage.

Carpets from Afghanistan, such as this one, are very hard-wearing, making them suitable for practically any purpose.  They can be used in high traffic areas, such as a lobby or foyer, or as a table decoration.  Although almost never recommended, 100% wool carpets may even be used in areas with higher humidity, such as a bathroom, as wool is not as susceptible to mildew and mold as cotton.

Origin:  Persia (Afghanistan)

Design:  Traditional Gul (Bukhara)

Size:  100 x 50 cm

Structure:  Handwoven, symmetrical (Turkish) knots

Material:  100% wool (warp, weft and pile)

Weight:  1,25 kg

This particular specimen has more appealing colours than the run-of-the-mill Afghan produce, appearing somewhat brighter.
