Philodendron Pink Princess care guide

Light Requirements:

Place your Philodendron Pink Princess in bright, indirect light for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. However, it can tolerate low light conditions if necessary.

Watering needs:

Water your Philodendron Pink Princess thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. Allow excess water to drain away and avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.

You don"t want it to dry out completely as this may turn the substrate that it"s currently in - hydrophobic, and thereby repelling water.  Keeping it evenly moist is a win! Try out our water spouts that are a hit when it comes to watering plants.

Humidity requirements:

Try and attain at least 60-70% humidity for the next 6 months. They can tolerate normal humidity in the house following the initial step down process, but any plant with with velvet leaves would need additional humidity to thrive.

Fertilizing:

Like any plant, these plants do enjoy and thrive off constant nutrients like a controlled release fertilizer.  Then it"s also important to top them up with a high nitrogen fertilizer such as TerraPlus N  to give them an additional boost every two months.

Soil:

Philodendrons thrive in a lovely airy mix. When it"s time to repot, consider using our aroid mix additive and combine that with perlite. That mix literally has everything needed for the perfect substrate!
