Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd (ICI) had thousands of employees, many of whom got long service award Garrard watches. This is a fine example of just such a watch. The stainless steel case has a screw down case back to protect the mechanical (wind-up) movement.
The watch is engraved for 1969, but as other examples seen, the watch itself is a late 1950s/1960s model which the company used for these awards.
A beautiful example of a vintage watch, all original with associated Hirsch leather strap. See photos for details and condition, fully working.
"Garrard is the longest serving jewellers in the world, and can trace their history back to 1735. Quality as always been high they were appointed the first official Crown Jeweller in 1843, and even now the engagement ring worn by the Duchess of Cambridge was made by them."
Dimensions: the watch face measures 33 mm excluding crown. (Code: 24BV176)
