An EXCELLENT example of a RARE , 1970s GSG-9 German Police Ballistic Fibre Helmet w/ Liner & Chinstrap. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Camouflage Relief on obverse. All parts appear present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Liner and Chin-strap remain complete - with press-studs functional. Helmet has been subject to several re-applied coats of paint.
The M38 Pattern Helmet was introduced for Post-War Police usage by the Bundesgrenzschutz in the 1950s. The early steel helmets were replaced by Ballistic Fibre variants in 1972 - with the formation of the GSG-9 Elite Police Unit.
