Rare Vintage Capodimonte Vase and Planter Set
Style: Baroque / Rococo Revival
Features: Beautiful raised cherub figures, decorated with green and brown majolica overglaze, capturing the ornate elegance of the period.
Vase Dimensions: Large, standing 41 cm tall, trophy-style design.
Planter Dimensions: 17.5 cm high, with a small chip on the rim (see photos).
Condition: Both pieces are in good vintage condition, with the planter having a minor chip on the rim. The vase is in excellent shape with no visible damage except some discoloration on the reverse.
Markings: The planter features the Capodimonte "N" and Crown mark, along with an incised number 0176/21, consistent with the Capodimonte marks used in the 1920s-1960s
Background: This vase and planter set exemplifies the Italian Capodimonte tradition, renowned for its detailed porcelain craftsmanship. Capodimonte porcelain originated from the Royal Factory in Naples, but many other high-quality Italian makers continued the legacy, including Ginori, whose pieces featured the famous N crown mark.
