Acacia is a genus of shrubs and trees belonging to the subfamily Mimosoideae of the family Fabaceae. Straggly shrub or small, multi-stemmed tree. Young branchlets with densely yellowish-grey velvety. Hooked prickles scattered along the branches and the leaf rhachis. Leaves with 4-7 pairs of pinnae; leaflets in 4-15 pairs per pinna, oblong-elliptic, up to 18 × 9 mm, green-green, finely hairy; petiole with a gland near the base.
