This story is fiction, built on accepted facts, proved facts and more than forty years study and close observations of the Eerste River, near Cape town. No publishing date has been recorded in the book but the book has been widely accepted or presumed by collectors of African fishing literature (by historical deduction) to have been published in 1949.
