Item Details
This camcorder is in absolutely mint condition and has only ever been used once to record one 60 minute tape. All original accessories (AC adapter, battery, wireless remote control, A/V cable, lens cap, and shoulder strap) and instruction manuals are included. Two Hi8 tapes are also included.
Please note that the CCD-TRV98E is an analog camcorder, and because Hi8 is an analog video format, transferring to a computer requires digitization. The CCD-TRV98E does not have a digital output connection, so the analog video must be fed to a capture card in the computer or passed through a digital camcorder to a firewire port in the computer.
Hi8 video tapes are not now readily available, however, these can still be found with difficulty in some stores. Having said this, tape stock is not necessarily important if all video material is captured and archived digitally.
The 20x optical (560x digital) zoom lens is paired with Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization for dealing with high zoom levels, Sony's NightShot system uses the infrared spectrum to illuminate subjects in low-light (or no-light) situations, and Sony's Picture Stabilization System brings superior picture stability despite camera shakes thanks to integrated motion sensors.
