Syrian Dagger Knife Jambiya Kindjal - SYRIE Brass Scabbard And Handle With Decorative Bone Insert

VINTAGE/ANTIQUE? SYRIE - SMALL SYRIAN KNIFE DAGGER

I am not entirely sure of what this is exactly. Similar knives or daggers are called Jambiya's and other Kindjal's. Regarding age, it looks old and certainly has some age related issues but I am unable to date this particular blade. The scabbard is brass as well as the handle/grip. Both have a lot of elaborate designs engraved on them. The handle also has some decorative bone embedded in it with a decorative stud on the one side. The blade itself has some etchings as well with the name 'SYRIE' etched on both sides.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 230mm (with the scabbard) and 215mm (without the scabbard)

CONDITION: The overall condition is very good with some age related issues. The bone insert on the back side is damaged with cracks and chips. I am not sure if there is meant to be a decorative brass stud on the bone on the back or not, but I am assuming not as there are also no brass studs on the brass parts of the handle, unlike the front. It appears as though this is how it was meant to be. The blade has some wear and is very blunt even rough but easily sharpened out. The scabbard is very loose fitting and will not hold the blade in place if turned upside down.
