Tomatillos are extremely versatile fruits that can be used to make jams, chutneys, used fresh in fruit salads, snacking or use as base together with jalapeno peppers in authentic Mexican salsa. The purple Tomatillo is really pretty but plants need full sun.

Purple Coban is an open-pollinated variety of purple tomatillo collected in Coban, Guatemala.  Plants produce good yields of small, purple tomatillos encased in papery husks.  Fruit are initially green but ripen to a deep purple colour when mature.  They have an excellent, sweet flavour that makes them well-suited for salsas and sauces.
