A budding industry in South Africa (with the help of the CSIR) - silk is extracted from the cocoons of the wild Mopane Silk Moths (Gonameta Rifobrinnae) but supplies are scarce and uncertain due to fluctuating weather conditions so finding these is quite special!  The six mats are in excellent condition (still tied together with original tag) and are beautifully woven  and measure 46cm x 35cm with extra 5cm tassels on two sides.    Something really special!     Refer images
