Very rare West Street Hut Durban identity ticket token (Hearns 658a)

The West Street Hut in Durban opened in July 1916 as the focal point of women's support for South African and allied soldiers and sailors during WW1. The Hut provided food, drink and entertainment to thousands on their way to and from battle.

This token is about 2mm wide, so it seems that two tokens may have been joined together many years ago (Hearns lists the width as 1.1mm).
