Victorian Silver 'Name Puzzle' Brooch (1879)
This attractive, antique, English hallmarked solid silver brooch, known as a 'puzzle name' brooch, is well made with lovely, pierced detail and engraving. It has a decorative round frame with cut-out and engraved, interlinked letters in the middle to form a hidden name. This unusual silver 'puzzle' brooch was made in Birmingham in 1879 and is stamped on the back by the makers 'B. BROS'. It's in excellent condition with a secure pin and measures 4cm in diameter, with a weight of 6,6g.
