Title: Vintage Alfred Meakin "The Hayride" Large Serving Bowl. Manufactured By: Alfred Meakin, Made In England. Height: 6.5cm. Diameter: 21.0cm Pattern Code: MEA 64, The Hayride Scene. Date: The Crown and Name with England stamp on the base was used from 1945, the large bowl is probably from the 1950's. Info: "The Hayride" pattern from Alfred Meakin, with a slightly scalloped edge and ribbed edge. Charming old style bowl for the display cabinet or for the table. Alfred Meakin Ltd was set up in 1875 and operated from the Royal Albert, Victoria and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall. Alfred Meakin was the brother of James and George Meakin who ran a large pottery company in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Condition: Very good, no chips or cracks on the bowl, the pattern is in good condition. Price: R 195.00 Inc Vat.
