Vintage Faber-Castell 71/16 Compass Set. Made in Germany

This is a complete, vintage Faber-Castell 71/16 Compass Set, a high-quality drafting tool set made in Germany. Ideal for collectors, technical drawing enthusiasts, or professionals who appreciate precision and craftsmanship.

This set was originally owned by my father, an Electrical Engineer, who purchased it in Germany before emigrating to South Africa in 1951. It has been well cared for and remains in excellent condition, with no signs of corrosion or significant wear.

Condition

Faber-Castell manufactured the 71/16 Compass Set during the mid-20th century, specifically between the 1950s and 1970s.

The outside top of the case clearly shows "Made in Germany." This suggests this set was manufactured before 1949, or up to the very early 1950s, as "West Germany" became the standard designation after the division of Germany in 1949.
